There are many ways to personalize a webOS smartphone. The most individual one is to install apps, hacks and apply patches to webOS by homebrewing the device. Thus, one can receive more power and usability, but also live with the fact that something could go wrong and brick the device.

There are currently four homebrew installers - all with limited functionality and some pros and cons. Again, Precentral created a gorgeous overview chart of all tools and point out which make sense for which procedures...

As usual, precentral is a good source for some webOS juice and so are they reporting that webOS folks will be able to playback flash animations very soon and one of the first to do so on a mobile device in general.

A prerelease version of Flash Player 10.1 is now available for Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. A beta is expected to be available for Palm webOS later this year.
